The apps and their websites use open-source components. Each component retains its own licence; this does not make the entire app open source.
Local speech models in Zack Typing
Models are downloaded separately when needed. The model catalogue uses these converted and quantised versions:
| Model and creator | Licence and original source | Version used |
|---|---|---|
| Whisper Small — OpenAI | Original model, MIT licence, Copyright (c) 2022 OpenAI | GGUF, Q4_K_M |
| Canary 180M Flash — NVIDIA | Original model, CC BY 4.0 | GGUF, Q8_0 |
| Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3 — NVIDIA | Original model, CC BY 4.0 | GGUF, Q8_0 |
| Whisper Large v3 — OpenAI | Original model, MIT licence, Copyright (c) 2022 OpenAI | GGUF, Q5_K_M |
GGUF conversion and quantisation change the format and numerical precision of the original weights. Attribution does not imply endorsement or certification of Zack Typing by NVIDIA or OpenAI. Rights granted by the model licences are unaffected.
CC BY 4.0 requires appropriate attribution, a licence reference and an indication of changes. Redistribution of Whisper must preserve its copyright and MIT licence notice. The linked full licence texts apply.
Fonts
The apps include the Roboto (Copyright 2011 The Roboto Project Authors) and Roboto Mono (Copyright 2015 The Roboto Mono Project Authors) typefaces. Both are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; sources: Roboto, Roboto Mono.
Other components
Components include Tauri, React and Lucide. The notices for the distributed version apply. The model notices above do not replace licence files in app or model packages.
